MY STORY

A love of food and outdoor cooking that drove me to design and build my own outdoor kitchen, then a few friends suggested I share my outdoor cooking journey - Outdoor Cooking Club was born.

Hi, my name is Tom, I am the chef, builder, author, video editor and owner/creator of Outdoor Cooking Club. I love working with my hands, designing, building and cooking. So when I finally had enough money I took the first step by designing and building my dream outdoor kitchen. In CGI it looked so simple... it wasn't, and took two years to finish!  I was doing everything myself with the help of Youtube to teach me new skills/techniques needed to fulfil my design ideas. Special note to my Dad here as I did acquire all his tools to save money and he was on speed dial when I ran into issues, which was every other week! - Thanks Dad!

Once the kitchen was created, this allowed me to fully embrace my new kitchen toys being the brick Pizza Oven, Kamado Joe BBQ and flat top electric hot plate. 

Following a few overcooked and burnt meals that wouldn't even resemble food you can eat... I finally learnt how to use the equipment and then started to really enjoy not just the eating but the the process of outdoor cooking. Setting up the equipment for the desired meal, starting the fire, fire management, controlling temperatures and doing all this from something I created.

Following countless hours watching these chefs and friends pushing the idea of videos, I then decided to start recording my own meals/recipes. At the time of writing this I am still at a very early stage of my journey with social media but as they say 'no time like the present' so starting this endeavor to see where it takes me.

At the moment, I record two recipes every weekend, these are then posted Wednesday and Saturday.

I have now created this webpage for followers to easily access recipes without having to navigate different social channels.
